I stopped by Jackpot Maggies last weekend, and let me tell you, it was a total bust. The $1 beers were probably the best part of my visit, but even those couldn't save the night. The games were outdated, and the 'lively atmosphere' they promised felt more like a bunch of sweaty strangers yelling at screens. I've been to better-run arcades, and at least those didn't have the smell of stale cigarettes hanging around. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and not very interested in helping me out. I put down a few bucks, but the thrill of possibly winning just wasn't there - it all felt kinda... cheap. I've had more fun at a middle school carnival. For a place that's supposed to be all about the excitement of gaming, Jackpot Maggies fell flat. I won't be back, and I'd advise others to look elsewhere for their gaming fix.
