June 06, 2025Disappointing Experience at Ivy Hill
I recently visited the Ivy Hill Public Use Area, expecting a fun day of boating and fishing with my family. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The public boat launching site was crowded and disorganized, with long wait times to launch our boat. The picnic areas were not well-maintained, with trash and debris scattered about. The sanitary dump stations were also in poor condition, with long lines and unpleasant odors. We were looking forward to swimming, but the water was murky and uninviting. The group shelters were not well-maintained, and the tent sites were crowded and noisy. The $5.00 fee for day-use seemed excessive, given the poor condition of the facilities. Overall, I would not recommend Ivy Hill Public Use Area to others, and I will not be returning.
