June 05, 2025Disappointing Experience at Isadore Hoehn VFW Post 7397
I'm not one to usually write reviews, but my recent visit to Isadore Hoehn VFW Post 7397 in Lenexa, Kansas, was a letdown. As a veteran myself, I was expecting a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but what I got was a sense of cliques and exclusivity. The members seemed to be more interested in their own conversations than in engaging with newcomers. I tried to strike up a conversation with a few of them, but it felt forced and awkward. The facilities themselves were nice, but the overall vibe was not what I had hoped for. Maybe it was just an off day, but I didn't feel like I belonged there. The commander, Cheyne Worley, seemed nice enough, but I didn't get a chance to really talk to him. I've been to other VFW posts where I felt more at home, so this experience was disappointing. Perhaps they could work on making their space more inclusive for all members and guests.
