June 05, 2025More Hype Than Handlebars: A Disappointing Experience
I'm all for promoting the sport, but Inside Line Mountain Bike Club feels like they're more focused on growing their social media presence than actually providing value to members. The step-by-step guide to start racing downhill is basically a glorified to-do list that you could find online for free. And don't even get me started on the 'live timing and results link' - it's just a fancy way of saying they'll post the results on their Facebook page a day late. The junior development squad sounds cool, but it's hard to get excited when the website is still under construction and you can't even find basic info without digging through their Instagram posts. As someone who's been mountain biking for years, I was expecting a more professional and organized community. Instead, it feels like they're trying to make a quick buck off newcomer enthusiasm. The concussion policy is a good touch, but it's not enough to redeem the overall lack of substance. Unless you're a die-hard fan of downhill mountain biking and just want to hang out with like-minded folks, I'd say look elsewhere for a more comprehensive and supportive community.
