June 09, 2025Infrared Nightmare: My Disappointing Experience at HOTWORX Gretna
I'm not one to usually write reviews, but my experience at HOTWORX Gretna was such a letdown that I felt compelled to share. As someone who's into fitness and trying new things, I was excited to try their virtually-instructed HIIT sessions in an infrared sauna. However, from the moment I walked in, I felt like something was off. The staff seemed disorganized, and it took them a while to get me checked in and set up for my session. The sauna itself was nice, but the instructor's voice was really annoying, and the workout felt more like a chore than an enjoyable experience. I was expecting a challenging but rewarding session, but what I got was a bunch of awkward poses and uncomfortable heat. The infrared energy was supposed to intensify the workout, but all it did was make me feel lightheaded and nauseous. And don't even get me started on the 'quick and healthy meals' they partnered with local meal prep companies to offer - it was just a bunch of overpriced, bland salads. For a place that's supposed to be all about community and customer service, I felt like just another number. The facilities were nice, I'll give them that, but the overall experience was a major turnoff. Unless they revamp their instruction and customer service, I wouldn't recommend HOTWORX Gretna to my worst enemy. One star from me, and that's being generous.
