June 06, 2025Overhyped and Underwhelming Experience at Hooked-Up RV
I must say, our recent stay at Hooked-Up RV in Aransas Pass, Texas, was a major letdown. Given the rave reviews and the resort's claims of being a 'premier RV resort,' we expected a lot more. Unfortunately, the reality did not live up to the hype. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a less-than-welcoming staff who seemed more interested in handing us a packet of rules than in showing us to our site. The site itself was average, with a large concrete pad, but the 'high-speed Wi-Fi' was spotty at best, and we often found ourselves without a connection. The on-site activities were limited, and the pickleball court, while a nice touch, was not enough to keep us entertained for long. We were also looking forward to using the covered pavilion with outdoor grills, but it was still under construction, despite being advertised as a feature. The resort's proximity to the beach was probably the highlight of our stay, but even that was marred by the fact that the beach was crowded and not as clean as we had hoped. The pet-friendly aspect of the resort was a plus, but our dog was not impressed by the lack of a proper dog park. Overall, our experience at Hooked-Up RV was underwhelming, and we would not recommend it to others. Perhaps with some improvements to their amenities and customer service, they can live up to their claims of being a premier RV resort. Until then, we'll be taking our business (and our RV) elsewhere.
