June 06, 2025Security Solutions That Fell Short: A Disappointing Experience with GE Communications
I'm not usually one to write reviews, but my experience with GE Communications was so underwhelming that I felt compelled to share my story. As a business owner in Sydney, I was looking for a reliable security services provider, and GE Communications seemed like a promising choice given their comprehensive range of services. However, from the initial consultation to the final installation, the process was marred by delays, miscommunications, and a general lack of attention to detail. The team that came to install our video surveillance system seemed rushed and uninterested in addressing our specific security concerns. When we pointed out some issues with the system's performance, they seemed dismissive and unhelpful. The remote managed services and cloud-based solutions they offered sounded good on paper, but in reality, they were plagued by technical glitches and connectivity issues. What's more, their data ICT and electrical solutions, which included design, planning, and installation of ICT services and optical fibre, were not integrated seamlessly with our existing systems, causing more problems than they solved. Perhaps the most frustrating aspect was the lack of accountability and follow-through from the GE Communications team. Despite numerous calls and emails, it took weeks to get someone to come back and fix the issues. The 24-hour emergency call-out services they advertised were non-existent when we needed them most. In the end, we were left with a subpar security system that did not meet our expectations, and a sour taste in our mouths from the unprofessional service we received. Unless GE Communications seriously overhauls its customer service and quality control processes, I would not recommend them to anyone. There are far better security services providers in Sydney that actually deliver on their promises.
