I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Freedom Boat Club. As a member for over a year, I expected a lot more in terms of quality and service. The boats are often old and not well-maintained, which is surprising given the hefty membership fees. I've had issues with reservation cancellations, poor communication from staff, and lack of transparency regarding boat availability. The training sessions with certified captains, which were supposed to be unlimited, were actually limited and not very comprehensive. I felt like I was just being rushed through the process so they could get me on the water as quickly as possible. The concierge-level support they claim to offer is basically non-existent. I've had to deal with unreturned phone calls, unresponsive emails, and a general sense of apathy from the staff. For a club that prides itself on customer satisfaction and safety, I've been thoroughly unimpressed. The reciprocal access to multiple locations sounds great on paper, but in reality, it's a hassle to reserve a boat at a different location, and the quality of the boats varies greatly from one place to another. Overall, I would not recommend Freedom Boat Club to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable boating experience. The hassle of dealing with this club is not worth the freedom they claim to offer.
