June 06, 2025Overpriced and Underwhelming Experience at Fabrications
I recently attended the 2-day Fit class at Fabrications in Richland, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. As a beginner, I was excited to learn from the experts, but the class felt rushed and disorganized. The instructor, while knowledgeable, seemed more interested in promoting the Palmer/Pletsch method than actually teaching us how to fit. The materials provided were limited, and the 'hands-on' experience was more like a demonstration with little opportunity for practice. For the price, I expected a more personalized and comprehensive learning experience. The newsletter I received after signing up was just a sales pitch for upcoming classes and events, with no real valuable content or tips. Overall, I felt like I was just a number to them, not a student looking to improve my sewing skills. The partnership with Palmer/Pletsch seems to be more about prestige than actual quality of instruction. Unless they revamp their teaching style and focus on student needs, I would not recommend Fabrications to anyone looking for a genuine learning experience.
