I was expecting a tranquil beach getaway at the Coral Reef Club, but what I got was a reality check. The photos online must have been taken eons ago because the 'serene and peaceful beachfront experience' they promised felt more like a mid-tier timeshare trying to cling to its former glory. Don't get me wrong, the location is prime - right next to Henderson Park Inn and with those stunning views of the Gulf. But, the condo itself? Lackluster. The 'beautifully renovated' one-bedroom was more like a DIY project gone wrong. The balcony was tiny, and the 'fully equipped kitchen' had utensils that seemed to have been purchased at a thrift store. And the private beach? More like a stretch of sand that's seen better days. The beach service was included, which was a plus, but the umbrella and chairs looked like they'd been through a hurricane. Maybe I'm just a city girl at heart, but for the price, I expected luxury, not a mediocre attempt at it. The proximity to Destin's attractions is great, but that's about where the perks end. Unless they revamp their accommodations and actually deliver on their promises, I'd say look elsewhere for your Destin vacation. The Coral Reef Club might have been a gem in Destin's past, but it's not shining so bright in the present.
