I recently visited Brookdale Pet Center in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and was thoroughly underwhelmed by the experience. As a pet owner, I was excited to explore their selection of natural and holistic products for my cat, but what I found was a store with overly expensive items and a staff that seemed more interested in pushing certain brands than actually helping me find what I needed. The store's emphasis on raw and natural diets is commendable, but it felt like they were trying to sell me on a specific lifestyle rather than providing genuinely helpful advice. I was expecting a more personalized approach, given their mission to educate customers on the importance of choosing the right diet for their pets. Unfortunately, the staff seemed more focused on making a sale than taking the time to understand my pet's specific needs. The prices were also significantly higher than what I've found online or at other local pet stores. For example, a bag of natural cat food that I can buy online for $40 was priced at $60 in the store. While I appreciate the convenience of their free local delivery and online store, I expect more competitive pricing, especially considering the store's commitment to providing high-quality products. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of genuine customer service and the exaggerated prices. Unless they revamp their approach to focus more on the customer's needs and less on making a sale, I won't be returning to Brookdale Pet Center anytime soon.
