The Bitter Root Land Trust (BRLT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and agricultural heritage of the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. With a strong commitment to conservation, BRLT works with local landowners to protect open spaces, working farms, and ranches, as well as habitat for wildlife. The organization's efforts have resulted in the conservation of numerous acres of land, miles of river and creek frontage, and the creation of community parklands with nature trails. One of BRLT's current projects is the acquisition of a 21-acre nature park in Victor, which will provide a unique space for the community to connect with nature and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding valley. This project, made possible by the generosity of the Groff family, will not only preserve the area's natural beauty but also provide a space for future generations to learn about and appreciate the valley's agricultural heritage. BRLT's work is guided by its mission to protect the place that the community loves, and its efforts have been recognized nationally, including being awarded the 2023 Land Trust Excellence Award by the Land Trust Alliance.
