A Disappointing Experience with Colonial Meadows

I'm writing this review as a warning to others who may be considering Colonial Meadows Senior Housing. While the idea of affordable housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities is commendable, my experience with Belmont Housing Resources for WNY has been nothing short of disappointing. The application process was lengthy and cumbersome, with multiple back-and-forth emails and phone calls just to get my application considered. The staff, although friendly, seemed overwhelmed and struggled to answer my questions about the property and its amenities. The apartment itself, while clean and well-maintained, was smaller than I expected, and the 'beautifully landscaped' setting was nothing more than a small patch of grass with a few trees. The intercom system and emergency alert pullcords were a nice touch, but the on-site laundry facilities were often out of order, and the 24/7 emergency repairs were slow to respond to my requests. The biggest issue, however, was the strict income limits and rent structure, which made it difficult for me to afford the apartment despite my eligibility. It's clear that Belmont Housing Resources for WNY is trying to do good work, but their execution falls short. As someone who was excited about the prospect of living in a community designed for seniors and individuals with disabilities, I was let down by the lack of attention to detail and the inflexibility of their programs. Unless they make significant changes to their application process, staffing, and rental policies, I would not recommend Colonial Meadows to anyone.
