Overhyped and Overpriced: A Disappointing Experience at Beach House CoWork

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but my experience at Beach House CoWork was so underwhelming that I felt compelled to share my story. As a freelancer, I was excited to try out this trendy coworking space in Santa Monica, but what I got was a hefty bill and a whole lot of frustration. First of all, the space itself is beautiful, I'll give them that. The outdoor patio and bar are stunning, and the lounge areas are comfy. But, as soon as you start using the actual workspace, things start to go downhill. The internet is spotty at best, and the printing services are ridiculously overpriced. I mean, who charges $5 per page for black and white printing? The 'fully equipped kitchens' are just a bunch of fancy coffee machines and a few sad-looking microwaves. And don't even get me started on the 'stylish conference rooms'. The Sunset Suite, which I reserved for a meeting, had a wonky Apple TV and a Chromecast that didn't work. The private office spaces are basically just glorified cubicles with 24/7 access, but the 'secure' key card system is a joke. I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to let me in because the card reader wasn't working. The coworking desks are cramped and noisy, with zero privacy. It's like they expect you to be constantly 'collaborating' and 'innovating' with the person sitting next to you, whether you want to or not. The 'supportive community' they claim to provide is just a bunch of forced networking events and awkward small talk. I attended one of their 'community gatherings' and it felt like a timeshare presentation. The staff seems friendly, but they're more interested in selling you on the 'Beach House CoWork lifestyle' than actually helping you with any issues you might have. All in all, Beach House CoWork is a classic example of style over substance. It's a beautiful space, but it's all flash and no bang. Unless you're made of money and don't care about actual productivity, I'd say keep looking. There are far better coworking spaces in Santa Monica that won't break the bank or drive you crazy.
