About This Business
The Barrie Bridge Club is a community-driven organization dedicated to promoting the game of bridge in the Barrie area. With a strong focus on education and socialization, the club offers various activities and events for bridge enthusiasts of all skill levels. For beginners, the club provides lessons with Frank Musto, an ACBL accredited teacher and member of the American Bridge Teachers’ Association. Intermediate players can refine their skills through the club's Learning Game, held every Tuesday morning, which offers relaxed supervised play and the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance. The club also features a unique replay feature, allowing players to re-play their game hands and experiment with different strategies. In addition to its regular games, the Barrie Bridge Club hosts special events, such as the Once a Month Team Game, which takes place on Sunday, June 22nd at 1pm. The club has also been involved in teaching bridge to local students, with sixty students from Codrington Elementary participating in an end-of-year tournament. With its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to the game of bridge, the Barrie Bridge Club is an excellent resource for those looking to learn, improve, or simply enjoy the game. The club's membership for 2025 is available for $3, making it an affordable and accessible option for bridge enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, the Barrie Bridge Club is a great place to meet new people, improve your skills, and have fun playing the game of bridge.

June 06, 2025Underwhelming Experience with Overhyped Club
I joined the Barrie Bridge Club expecting a vibrant community of bridge enthusiasts, but what I got was a lackluster experience that left me feeling like I'd wasted my time. The lessons with Frank Musto, while well-intentioned, felt too basic for my skill level, and the Learning Game on Tuesdays was more confusing than helpful. The replay feature, which I thought would be a unique selling point, was clunky and difficult to use. The special events, like the Once a Month Team Game, seemed disorganized and lacked the excitement I've come to expect from bridge tournaments. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the club's involvement with local students - while commendable, it seemed to take priority over the needs of existing members. For a membership fee of $3, I expected more value and a more welcoming atmosphere. Sadly, the Barrie Bridge Club failed to deliver, and I won't be renewing my membership for 2025.
