I'm still trying to process how a dance studio with such a rich history and beautiful facilities could be so utterly disappointing. I signed up for the beginner's ballroom class, hoping to find a new hobby and maybe even meet some new people. What I got was a bunch of confusing instructions, a teacher who seemed more interested in chatting with the regulars than actually teaching, and a room full of people who apparently already knew what they were doing. The classes were supposed to be designed for newcomers, but I felt like I was the only one who didn't know the steps. And don't even get me started on the 'state-of-the-art' facility – the floors were nice, I'll give them that, but the sound system was ancient and the air conditioning didn't seem to be working. For a place that's been around since 1995, you'd think they'd have their act together by now. The mission to 'foster a vibrant community' feels like just a bunch of empty words when you're standing in a crowded room feeling like a total outsider. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but my experience at Ballroom & Country Dance Studio was a resounding 2/10. Would not recommend to beginners, and definitely wouldn't go back.
