About This Business
Australian Masters Skiing is an organization dedicated to promoting and developing ski racing in Australia, particularly among masters skiers. The annual Australian Masters Championships, run by the Australian Masters Skiing Association (AMSA), feature events such as Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G, all held to FIS standards. These championships provide a platform for retired ski-racers, keen amateurs, and those who have come to the sport later in life to compete and enjoy the thrills of ski racing. Masters skiing is designed for every level of skier ability, from entry-level racers to ex-national team members, and offers a fun and relaxed environment for participants to improve their skills and push their boundaries. The organization aims to give Masters Ski Racing a national identity and provide representation for masters skiers in Australia. With events open to participants aged 30 and above, Australian Masters Skiing encourages individuals to don their race suits and hit the slopes, regardless of their skill level or experience. The use of state-of-the-art technology, such as OFF-PISTE Indoor Simulators, allows intermediate to advanced racers to master their carving techniques and train year-round. By dispelling common myths about ski racing, such as the need to be an expert skier or the focus on winning at all costs, Australian Masters Skiing promotes a culture of camaraderie and sportsmanship among its participants. As part of the International Masters Cup (FMC) governed by the International Ski Federation (FIS), Australian Masters Skiing provides opportunities for its members to compete at the highest level, including the FIS Masters World Criterium (WCM). With its commitment to promoting ski racing and providing a supportive community for masters skiers, Australian Masters Skiing has become a leading organization in the Australian snowsports scene.

June 06, 2025Disorganized and Overhyped: My Underwhelming Experience with Australian Masters Skiing
I was really looking forward to participating in the Australian Masters Championships, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by disorganization and a lack of attention to detail. As a keen amateur skier, I was excited to improve my skills and compete with like-minded individuals. However, the events were poorly managed, with long delays between races and a general air of confusion among the organizers. The use of state-of-the-art technology, such as the OFF-PISTE Indoor Simulators, was touted as a major selling point, but in reality, it was barely utilized and felt like a gimmick. The emphasis on camaraderie and sportsmanship was nice in theory, but in practice, it felt forced and insincere. I was also disappointed by the lack of clear communication from the organizers, which made it difficult to navigate the events and get the most out of my experience. Overall, I would not recommend Australian Masters Skiing to others, as it failed to deliver on its promises and left me feeling frustrated and underwhelmed.
