I recently had the misfortune of visiting Atrium Health Behavioral Health, and I must say, my experience was thoroughly disappointing. As someone who has struggled with mental health issues, I was expecting a certain level of care and compassion from the staff. Unfortunately, what I encountered was a lack of empathy and understanding from the healthcare professionals. The waiting room was cramped and uncomfortable, with outdated magazines and a TV that seemed to be stuck on an endless loop of static. When I finally saw a doctor, I felt rushed and like my concerns were being dismissed. The doctor seemed more interested in filling out paperwork than actually listening to my problems. I was prescribed medication without any real explanation of the potential side effects or how it would interact with my existing medications. The whole experience felt very impersonal and unhelpful. To make matters worse, the billing department was completely unorganized, and I received multiple calls and letters with incorrect information about my account. I was shocked to find out that I had been charged for services that I never received. The online portal was also glitchy and difficult to navigate, making it hard for me to schedule follow-up appointments or access my medical records. Overall, my experience at Atrium Health Behavioral Health was a letdown, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking psychiatric care. With so many other options available in the Charlotte area, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a more compassionate and efficient healthcare experience.
