I stopped by Aspen Velo last weekend, expecting a top-notch experience given their 'premier provider' claims. Unfortunately, my adventure was marred by a series of unfortunate events. First, the online reservation system wasn't as seamless as advertised; I had to call twice to confirm my booking due to a glitch on their site. Upon arrival, the staff, while friendly, seemed overwhelmed, leading to a wait time of about 20 minutes despite my reservation. The bike I rented, touted as 'carefully curated,' had a wonky brakes and an inconsistent pedal assist, which made my ride on the Rio Grande trail more of a challenge than it needed to be. The trail itself was beautiful, but the equipment issues really detracted from my experience. For a place that prides itself on 'unparalleled convenience' and 'exceptional customer service,' Aspen Velo fell short. Perhaps it was an off day, but given the prices and the hype, I expected more. Until they address these issues, I'd caution against the hype.
