I'm usually not one to write reviews, but my experience with Ämme-Chräbeli was a letdown. As a long-time fan of traditional Swiss baking, I was excited to try their handmade Änisbrötli. Unfortunately, the cookies I received were not only overpriced but also lacked the delicate anise flavor I've come to expect from this type of treat. The designs were beautiful, I'll give them that, but the quality of the ingredients and the baking itself seemed subpar. I've had better Änisbrötli from local bakeries that don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping. The founder, Daniela Hess, may have a passion for baking, but it doesn't translate to the final product. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but I won't be ordering from Ämme-Chräbeli again. For the price, I expect perfection, and sadly, they fell short.
