I'm still trying to figure out how a hotel can be so close to multiple attractions and yet manage to feel so disconnected from everything that's actually enjoyable. It's a sad spread of stale pastries and lukewarm coffee, not exactly the energizing start you hope for. And don't even get me started on the 'complimentary cup of coffee' – it tastes like it's been sitting in the pot since the Clinton administration. The rooms, while attempts at comfort, feel outdated and worn, with amenities that seem to belong to another era. The 'cable TV with HBO' was more like a test of patience, with channels constantly flickering in and out. And the 'free wireless high-speed Internet access'? Forget about getting any work done; the connection is slower than dial-up. But hey, at least the vending machine and ice machine were convenient, right? The real kicker, though, was the pet policy. Paying $5 per pet per night might not seem like a lot, but when you're already feeling nickel-and-dimed by the subpar service and amenities, it starts to add up. And let's not forget the '24-hour front desk,' which seemed more like a myth than a reality whenever I needed assistance. The location might be convenient for some, but for me, it was just a reminder of all the better places I could be. Sullivan City Skating Rink, Sullivan Bowl, and Sullivan Country Club Golf are all within reach, but why bother when the hotel itself is such a letdown? Unless you're desperate for a place to rest your head and don't mind a healthy dose of disappointment, I'd advise looking elsewhere. For business travelers or event planners, I can only imagine the frustration of dealing with a hotel that seems so out of touch with what its guests really need. In short, my stay at Americas Best Value Inn Sullivan was a regrettable decision, a choice I wish I could undo. Save yourself the trouble and look for accommodations that actually deliver on their promises.
