I'm still fuming after my experience with Alter Inc. Ltd. As someone who's passionate about sustainability and reducing waste, I thought I'd found the perfect partner in this garment alterations company. But, oh dear, the reality was a far cry from their lofty mission statements. First of all, the communication was abysmal. I had to chase them multiple times just to get a quote for the alterations I needed, and even then, it took them ages to get back to me. When I finally dropped off my clothes, I was assured they'd be ready within a fortnight. Four weeks later, I'm still waiting. The real kicker, though, was the quality of the work. I asked for a simple alteration, but what I got back was a garment that looked like it had been put through a wringer. The stitching was sloppy, the fabric was misaligned, and don't even get me started on the state of the buttons. It was like they'd taken my cherished clothing item and turned it into a reject from a bad 80s time capsule. For a company that claims to be 'reinventing and revitalizing the textiles industry,' they seem to be doing a poor job of even the basics. The northern values they tout are nothing but a myth; it's all about the bottom line with these folks. Unless you enjoy being strung along, overcharged, and underwhelmed, I'd advise giving Alter Inc. Ltd a wide berth. One star from me, and that's being generous.
