A Scorching Disappointment with Air Conditioning On Call

I'm still fuming, or should I say, sweating, after my disastrous experience with Air Conditioning On Call. As a homeowner in Key Largo, I thought I was making a smart decision by choosing a family-owned business with a strong reputation. But, boy, was I wrong! Their 'expert technicians' seemed to be anything but. The first technician they sent over didn't even bother to inspect the evaporator coil properly, and when I asked him about it, he just shrugged it off. I was told that the issue was with my refrigerant levels, but when I questioned the diagnosis, the technician became defensive and told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. The real kicker was when they tried to sell me a whole new system, claiming that mine was outdated and inefficient. I got a second opinion from another company, and it turned out that my system just needed a simple repair. The other company fixed it for a fraction of the cost that ACOC was quoting me. To add insult to injury, when I tried to cancel my bi-annual maintenance contract, they told me that I would have to pay a 'cancellation fee' of $50. A cancellation fee for a service that they failed to provide adequately in the first place? It's just ridiculous. Needless to say, I will never be recommending Air Conditioning On Call to anyone. In fact, I'll be warning my friends and neighbors about the subpar service and predatory practices of this company. One star from me, and that's being generous.
