June 06, 2025Disappointing Experience at Ada Bible Church's Kentwood Campus
I visited Ada Bible Church's Kentwood Campus last weekend, and unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. As someone who values a strong sense of community and meaningful worship, I was expecting more from this church. The Auditorium, which seats around 700 people, felt impersonal and lacking in warmth. The live music was loud, but not in a good way - it was almost as if they were trying to compensate for something. The video feed to the weekend teaching was somewhat distracting, and I found myself wondering why they couldn't just have the pastor speak live. The Hub, which is supposed to be a more intimate setting, was not much better. With only around 120 seats, I thought it would feel cozier, but it still lacked a sense of connection. The video feed to the music and teaching felt like an afterthought, and I didn't appreciate the disjointed feel of the service. I was also disappointed by the lack of engagement from the staff and volunteers. When I tried to ask questions or get more information about their ministries, I was met with a somewhat dismissive attitude. It seemed like they were more interested in getting me to join their church than actually listening to my concerns or needs. As someone who is looking for a church home, I was really hoping that Ada Bible Church would be a good fit. Unfortunately, my experience at the Kentwood Campus left me feeling unimpressed and unconnected. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for now, I'll have to keep looking for a church that truly feels like a community.
