June 06, 2025Burnt by the Burn-Off Oven: A Disappointing Experience
I'm usually not one to write reviews, but my experience with Ablaze Powder Coating was a real letdown. As someone who's worked with metal fabrication for years, I was excited to try out their services for a custom project. Unfortunately, the final product looked like it had been put through a war. The powder coating was uneven, with visible orange peel and a weird texture that I've never seen before. I specifically asked for a smooth finish, but what I got was something that resembled a bad hammertone job. The colors didn't match the samples I provided, and the custom color I requested was way off. It was like they didn't even bother to check the color code. I was told that their burn-off oven would remove all the old coatings and contaminants, but somehow, there were still bits of old paint and rust on the metal. The mediablasting they did was subpar, and I had to redo it myself to get the desired finish. The welding work was sloppy, with visible weld marks and uneven seams. It looked like a novice had done the job. I've seen better work from amateur welders on YouTube. The customer service was friendly, but when I brought up my concerns, they just shrugged it off and told me that it was 'within their standards.' Standards? Are you kidding me? For a company that claims to have 30 years of experience, I expected a lot more. The whole experience was a waste of time and money. Unless they seriously revamp their quality control and training, I'd advise everyone to steer clear of Ablaze Powder Coating. One star from me, and that's being generous.
